Tivax STB-T9 Digital TV Converter Review

Today we are reviewing the Tivax STB-T9 digital converter box. It is really a high quality digital converter box, but missing some features compared to it’s big brother; the Tivax STB-T8. The Tivax STB-T9 features sturdy, solid metal construction and an internal power supply. It has a good remote and easy to use menus.

Tivax STB-T9 Picture Quality
The Tivax STB-T9 DTV converter box is close to other units when it comes to picture quality. While not quite on par with the Zenith DTT901, the Philco TB100HH9, or the Channel Master CM7000 it is still better than most analog broadcasts.

Tivax STB-T9 Audio Quality
The sound quality for this DTV converter box is crystal clear, and is better than you would get with the average analog broadcast. There are a few converter boxes with better sound quality (such as the Tivax STB-T8), but it is a good performing unit.

Tivax STB-T9 Features
This DTV converter box comes with a nice set of features. It comes with an above average program guide that shows information for current and upcoming shows. The Tivax STB-T9 digital converter box also comes with auto scan and manual tuning functions. This TV converter box also has adjustable closed captioning and an on screen signal strength meter.

The one thing we found lacking was the lack of a universal remote. This isn’t really a deal breaker, as the remotes for many TVs on the market are able to be programed to also operate this unit. If not, multiple function universal remotes are available from many sources and can be used to control all the electronics in your home.

As you can see, overall the Tivax STB-T9 digital converter box is a good buy in digital TV converter boxes. It comes with plenty of features and the picture quality is very good.
