The Winegard RC-DT09 is another one of the coupon eligible digital TV converter boxes. As you’d expect, the RC-DT09 accepts all of the free, over-the-air digital signals and converts them to 480i, with an adjustable 4:3 (standard) or 16:9 (widescreen) aspect ratio. The RC-DT09 has a set of composite (RCA) connections and the standard coax connections. Unforuntely, there is no Smart Antenna or S-video. It is however one of the most compact units available, so it is what you need if space is at a premium. It will also display signal information on screen at the touch of a button
Some user-based reports indicate the RC-DT09 has:
- Excellent video reception equal to the Sansonic FT-300RT, but not as clear as the Channel Master CM-7000.
- Unit is very compact.
- Very clean audio reproduction just like the Philco TB100-HH9
- No external power supply unlike the Sansonic FT-300A.
